Iroman SoftRide Frame-set
Iroman SoftRide Frame-set
$500

I purchased this Ironman Triathlon Qualifier frame-set c/w 650c wheels and SoftRide suspension awhile back. My intent was to convert it into a single speedster, but lost interest. This is an insanely light-weight bike frame; even with the wheels! Would also be a good road bike project, as the rear hub sports a quality Shimano HyperGlide 8-Speed cassette. Used, but in very good condition. Details are below...

A bit about Beam Class: Beam bikes place the seat on a beam that attaches to the frame near the head tube and suspends the rider over the rear wheel without a seat tube or other support. They had a growing following in the 1990's among the time trial and triathlon crowd, up until the UCI got involved. In 1999, the UCI banned beam bikes - or more specifically, any bike without a seat tube - from competitive events, declaring them an unfair advantage.
